The Services include the public-facing marketing website, the GoldChain Passport (blockchain provenance explorer accessible via QR codes), the GoldChain Marketplace (B2B trading platform for licensed participants), and Clean Gold™ Compliance services. This Privacy Notice applies to all users of the Services, including both general website visitors and registered marketplace participants.

Including name, address, email address, phone number, date of birth, government-issued ID information, business name, job title, and role in supply chain (for marketplace participants).
For marketplace participants: account type (Producer, Exporter, Importer, or Retailer), business registration information, tax identification numbers, beneficial ownership information, account credentials, profile information, and communication preferences.
Bank account information, payment card details, transaction history, transaction fee records, escrow deposit information, and payment method preferences.
For marketplace participants: copies of government-issued identification, proof of address documents, business licenses and permits (mining, export, import, precious metals dealer licenses), business registration certificates, beneficial ownership declarations, and sanctions screening results.
For marketplace participants: details of gold listings (weight, purity, origin, price), purchase offers, accepted transactions, shipping addresses, tracking information, escrow records, dispute filings, blockchain transaction hashes, and QR code associations.
For marketplace participants: AML/CFT screening results, sanctions list checks, source of funds declarations, due diligence documentation, audit records, and regulatory reporting information.
We collect certain information about how you use our Services and the device that you use to access them, including geographical location, device information, IP address, browser type and version, time zone settings, page views, and search queries. We collect personal information directly from you when you register for a marketplace account, complete KYC verification, submit documentation for account approval, list gold for sale or submit purchase offers, complete transactions through escrow, contact customer support, sign up for newsletters, or upload documents or photos to the platform.
We may collect personal information from service providers including KYC verification services, EasyPost and shipping carriers (tracking and delivery information), and Polygon blockchain infrastructure providers (including transaction and escrow data). We may also verify information against business registration databases, sanctions lists (OFAC SDN, UN, EU), beneficial ownership registries, and license verification databases.
We use your information for the following purposes: to provide access to our Services and maintain your account; to verify your identity, conduct sanctions screening, and comply with regulatory requirements; to facilitate marketplace transactions including listing, escrow, shipping, and blockchain recording; to process transaction fees and maintain financial records; to protect against fraud and maintain platform security; to investigate and resolve disputes between marketplace participants; to manage our relationship with you and notify you about changes to our terms; to keep in contact with you about news and developments (with your permission where necessary); to carry out aggregated and anonymized research to improve our Services; to record transaction information on the Polygon blockchain for immutable provenance records; and to comply with legal obligations including AML/CFT reporting, sanctions compliance, and tax reporting.

We require third parties to maintain appropriate security to protect your personal information from unauthorized access or processing.
General website users: analytics data is typically retained for 2 years; marketing consent records are retained until you withdraw consent.
Marketplace participants: we retain account and transaction information for a minimum of 7 years after account closure to comply with AML/CFT regulations, tax requirements, and legal obligations. This includes KYC verification documents, transaction records, communication history, compliance screening results, and financial records.
Blockchain records: information recorded on the Polygon blockchain is permanent and immutable and cannot be deleted.
Dispute records: retained for 7 years after dispute resolution. Inactive accounts: accounts with no activity for 3 years may be archived, but records are retained for the full 7-year compliance period.
We take the safety and security of your personal data very seriously. We have implemented appropriate organizational and technical measures including end-to-end encryption for sensitive data transmission, secure storage of documents and personal information, regular security audits, access controls and authentication requirements, monitoring for suspicious activity, employee training on data protection, and incident response procedures.
You can also play a part by keeping your account credentials confidential, using strong unique passwords, enabling two-factor authentication when available, being vigilant to phishing emails, logging out of your account when finished on shared devices, and reporting suspicious activity to us immediately.
GoldChain is based in the United States of America. The Services are provided from the United States, and your personal information is stored on servers located in the United States. Because the GoldChain Marketplace serves participants globally, personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence.
Whenever we transfer your personal data internationally, we ensure appropriate levels of protection are afforded to it through adequacy determinations, standard contractual clauses, or participant consent for cross-border transactions.

When transactions are recorded on the Polygon blockchain, this information becomes permanently and publicly accessible. Once recorded, blockchain data cannot be modified, deleted, or restricted. By using the GoldChain Marketplace, you acknowledge and consent to this permanent recording.
What IS recorded: business names of transaction parties (not personal names), date and timestamp, gold specifications (weight, purity, origin), document verification hashes, and previous and next parties in the supply chain.
What is NOT recorded: full personal names, contact information (email, phone, addresses), government ID numbers, financial account details, KYC documentation, or private communications.
When the GoldChain Passport QR code is scanned by end consumers, they will see limited supply chain information including origin, certifications, and chain of custody, but will not see personal identifying information about individual marketplace participants.
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, used, shared, or sold; the right to delete personal information (subject to exceptions); the right to opt-out of sale of personal information; and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) including those outlined in Section 12 above.
The Services are not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
